Santa Lucia cookies and lefse-making Saturday, December 2nd  from 9-11am at the church.  Everyone is invited!  Please bring a lefse griddle if you have one.

Santa Lucia celebration Sunday, December 3rd.  Lucia will lead us out from worship to the narthex where we will enjoy the traditions of this Swedish and Italian saint.

Advent is the season of preparation for our Lord’s arrival.  We receive communion in Advent at the altar rail, and you are invited to remain for prayer.  Kneeling is optional.  All are welcome.

Sunday School “Glocal”service project, “ELCA Good Gifts, and Heifer International Tree” begins Sunday December 3 in the narthex.  We are both global and local:  glocal! Please consider selecting an ornament from our tree this year, and sending your check to either agency of your choice.  Make it an alternative Christmas present this year, and send one of the “Your gift was hard to wrap” cards that are in the narthex.  Please let Robin Eskridge know of your donation so that the Sunday Schoolers can celebrate their success!

ELCA Good Gifts catalogs are available in the narthex.  You are invited to take one home and learn more about the creative ways we partner in our global Church to meet global needs.  Share it with your friends!

Advent Holden Evening Prayer begins December 6th at 7pm.  Reflections by our guest speakers on the theme “We are all walking each other home.”  Please join us for a beautiful time of expectant waiting in a busy season.

Salt Lake Ballet Theater presents “The Night before Christmas” at the Rose Wagner Theater, December 8 at 7pm, and December 9 at 1pm and 7pm.  Tabor’s own Lydia Smith is in the corps.  For more information and tickets please visit www.slballettheater.org

Martha Circle will meet at 1:00 pm on Thursday, December 14th for their annual holiday luncheon and bible study.  It will be at the home of Alvina Wall at 1031 North Chartwell Court in Salt Lake City.  Please rsvp to Alvina at 801/596-0650.

OAKS (Older Adults Knowing Strength) luncheon will be held on Wednesday, December 20th at noon at the church.  

Crossroads Food Barrel: You are invited to bring non-perishable food donations to the barrel in the narthex for the local food Pantry. They have no special needs at this time. All donations are appreciated. Food is delivered weekly to Crossroads on 400 East in SLC.

Choir rehearsals meet on Tuesday nights at 7:30 pm. New members are most welcome!

Visit our spiritual direction room.  Come up the east stairs, and it's the fourth door on the left (Room #10).   Stay as long as you like for prayer, meditation, or just a quiet moment for yourself.  Please put all books back in the shelf before you leave.  You will find things to take home with you as well.  Many thanks to Pr. DanaLee Simon for making this available to us all!

Tabor's Solar Energy: Our carbon off-set for October was 1,026 lbs (the equivalent of 12 Trees). In 2016 our 23 solar panels produced 7.27 MWh (2 MWh more than 2015!).

Inge Pedersen is a patient at Avalon Care Center at 523 N Main Street in Bountiful. She is also receiving the services of Bristol Hospice.

Congregation Council

Council will be meeting on Sunday, December 17th following worship.

Utah Food Bank

We will be sorting food on Saturday, December 16th from 10 a.m. to noon.  Please join us at the Utah Food Bank, 3150 South 900 West, at 10 a.m. 

Mount Tabor Deadlines

The Tabor Trumpet deadline is the 20th of the month. Weekly bulletin information and announcements need to be in the office by Wednesday.
